Most rocky planets are pretty desert like, they were just planning ahead. I guess that raises the question of if Space Force, or the Army, or Marines (dare I say Space Marines?) would handle land warfare on other planets
Maybe things have changed but for a while Elons companies paid very well for engineering/technical staff, as in solid six figures fresh out of school. Of course the only reason they paid that much was that they expected 80+ hour weeks
That’s because those aren’t true hypersonics, which would require some maneuverability at those speeds. If it follows a straight trajectory it’s not too hard to intercept
